Support by Donation

The success of the Ashita-Tomorrow program lies in the enthusiasm and commitment of the volunteers, students, and teachers. Everyone at Ashita-Tomorrow is dedicated to making a difference in a student’s life, and we would like to ensure that the resources necessary to accomplish this are available, so we would greatly appreciate any donations. 100% of the proceeds are given to the students’ education-related expenses, which include buying PCs for Skype sessions, transportation, international homestays, and workshops.

Support as a Volunteer

There are many opportunities to contribute by becoming a volunteer:

Skype Session Volunteers: We are looking for American students who would like to volunteer their time to communicate with high school students affected by the disaster.

When? Once a week, for about 45 minutes, any day from Sunday through Thursday, starting at approximately 6:30pm or 5:30pm, US Eastern times (depending on day-light savings).

Why should I join? Sessions are fun and incredibly rewarding. Japanese students are so appreciative of your efforts, it takes only 45 minutes per week to profoundly impact another person’s life, and you can support and inspire those who are persevering through adversity. Also, if you study Japanese or are interested in Japanese culture, this is a great way to interact with and learn from Japanese students. We are happy to work with you to find a schedule that fits your availability. Also, orientation or guided initial sessions are held to ensure that you are entirely comfortable and prepared.

Host families (in Japan and America): We provide opportunities for Japanese students from disaster-affected areas to visit America on a home-stay program to gain exposure to the international community. These are typically one or two week home-stays in March or April, and we would greatly appreciate volunteer host families. Also, in the summer, American students from Yale University and preparatory high schools visit Japan to conduct workshops and interact with the Japanese students. For this, we are seeking volunteers willing to host these American volunteers for approximately one week.
